High- Tech Nursing

In Scottsdale, Arizona a young boy named Michael Higgins, an eight year old young boy had almost died by not breathing and collapsed. Luckily for the boy, Donna Musser was around to save this poor boy, when he had stop breathing. She was a Registered Nurse also known as (RN). The teacher who saw Michael collapsed had called the police. Musser had a devise calls AED which is a high- tech device that can jolt a person's heart with an electric sock. The pads on the shocker device had gave signal to shock Michael where he needs to be shocked at, she shocked him and he started to breath once again. The High- Tech device known as AED helped many people in situations that can't be dealt with to this day like breathing on your own when you have a heart attack. Nurses' Tech Tools... To this day as if right now, they’re nurses that use many devices to help out their patients. Their so many to use not only the AED, because they’re Oxygen tanks they use to keep for breathing normal and so much more. Measuring a patient's oxygen level.... Oxygen is what everyone needs to live. Years ago mostly all around the world have low oxygen in their system and the nurses had to have their own observation weather the patient had a low oxygen level. They looked for bluish coloration to the lips and their fingernails. If they did have blue lips and fingernails that means’ that their oxygen level had dropped 20%. There is a device that measures our oxygen level, it clamps on the end of any patient’s finger, like a clothespin. It finds out the oxygen level in a persons’ blood.
Delivering exact amounts of fluids and medications… There is another device called Infusion pump. It helps specified amount of fluid into a patient’s vein. To this day now, the device has become smaller and more accurate. They would have to use the device more careful or something will go wrong.
High- tech harvesting… Paul Smith is one of the RN from Colleyville, Texas. He says that the high- tech procedure called Endoscopic vein Harvesting is the coolest thing he had ever done. They use this device to remove the vein very carefully.
This summary would probably help me in my future because maybe one day I would want to be a RN I would have to learn all the important things that are in the job. Like, how to use the tools of what nurses use to help out a patient. This article is something you would want to read and learn more about because the tools that the nurses use are very interesting and they it’s fun to use also. So, I would say this article can tell you a lot of what people use in the hospital.

Making Scents

Hannah Follis is one of the candle makers at her job. People ask, "Why she smells so good?" and she tells herself that her job makes her smell good. She mixes candles and makes sure their smell is so good that people would want to buy more of her products. She always loved the fragrances of candles and perfume. She is also a research and development chemist at Illume, a candle manufacturer in Bloomington, Minn.

Getting Nose In The Door... Hannah Follis loved biology and the manufacturer is biology because it has to do with the sense of smell. Some of her classmates in High School slept in class and she loved science. So i think thats how she became a candle mixture. She graduated from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, she majored in biology and chemistry. After she graduated, she wanted to go into the laboratory. She found out that she is very good at what smells good and begin to mix candles. They find intresting chemicals to fit their products and they use their combinations they choose and squirt it and smell to see if it is the right formula they were reaching for.

Masterful Scents...Illume's master perfumes extract essential oils from fruits, flowers, bark, or leaves amd mix them with other chemicals to make a frangrance. Its all about the smell of what you would wear and how they made the smell. Smell so good, but their is other ways to know, but you would have to be a master at chemist. They test their products to see if its not going to kill us. But being masterful at it shouldn't be a problem because you wear the smell and you get other people to wear it and see if they like it.

Sniffing Out The Future...Learning what you love can get you to places, say for instints Hannah Follis loved biology and now she works for a candle company. If you love a subject in school then you will know what you want to do in the future just do what you love. If something interestes you just try and stick with what you enjoy.

Everywhere a Sign

The main point in this story would be learning the ways of Sign language. And keeping that moment with you when you realize that you know what you are doing. Ruth Murphy is one of the person that works in the American Sign Language program. The program of what she is running would help the children that can't hear and also the adults with the same issue. It is very satisfying to people that can, do stuff well they cant hear. The sign language helps kids and adults communicate and help make the world a better place with talking with another person. Jessica Cohn said, "Express yourself for a living as an American Sign Language interpreter."

Millions of Assignments Daily... 28 million Americans are deaf or hearing impaired. I think in the world Disabilities Act, don't have much to do because all jobs have to have ears to work with. Some jobs require good hearing because if your boss shouts at you then you will do your job quick, but if you won't hear it all then whats their to do then just sit there and gaze at the ceiling?... Some doctors at hospitals help the deaf children at their sign language so they will know what to do when they are pointed out. Children learn their sign language at the age of 5 or so on.

Sharping Skills... Ruth Murphy is very honored to help other people that are deaf. She helps out the children. She also says, "their very hard to work with, but when story telling comes along she loves being the characters of the story!" She is one of the teachers in the College level, she helps the speacial needs class in her college. ASL also known as American Sign Language can help in speech therapy, speech pathology, and audiology. It can also fluent social workers, occupational therapists, and medical technicians.

Pluses and Minuses... If i were doing sign language and i was not deaf my hands woul gey tired not my brain. The reason why im saying this is because its the opposite for other people that are deaf. I think it's really hard to learn because as for me i would get confused at what I'm going to do next. About doing the sign language can also be diffacult for finding jobs because not a lot of jobs quire sign language. It's very hard for them to get thier income ane just one steady job they would want. Some have jobs to die for, but some just stay home and look around at nothing to do. Some travel to different places or they go to school and teach other people their language that they use in their life.

Minding Your Language... They study ASL at school, but its only in college they would study for well this language teaches the whole world something becasue people are just people at what they learn and what they also do for themselves. This language tells other people that they can teach any kind of language, but as long as they know what they are doing.

Picture Power

Visualization is the key word in this situation about Picture Power. Because it’s a word of where it wants to get you, of who you want to be in the future. It’s what you see but knowing that you can make it come true in your head. Imagination is also the word you would want to say or do because there is so much ways to say or do what would want in life that will carry you on later in life. Albert Einstein referred to imagination as the “preview of life’s coming attractions.”

The word goal is everywhere people use the word to know that they can do whatever they set their mind to. Like saying you would want to do something that is, but is better to do for your own self. Saying you want a good grade as an A, you would have to stick with your goal. Knowing you would get that A, you want. It’s all about putting your mind to work and accomplishing your goal as in going through what you don’t want to do.

To help determine your goals, ask yourself these questions:

1. What do I enjoy?

2. What qualities do I admire in my friends, parents, and other adults?

3. What do I want to someday be, do, or own?

4. What do I want people to remember about me?

Your collage is what you would want to do because it helps go forward to do what you would want to do later in the future. It tells you what you planned out for yourself. So the collage is very important.

Lights Camera, and Internet Hook Up

1.Doug Cheney had been making movies at the age of 8. He once used his action figures to make a show for about 8 minutes. He had shared his preview to his parents and kids at school. Now that he is 35 years old he makes longer previews and puts them on the internet to see if other people in the world likes what he does. So to this day he is getting millions of pod casters.

2. Beyond YouTube…People in the world mostly put their funniest or scariest videos they made on you tube, itunes, Revver, and the series. There is also one called Sam Has 7 Friends. Talking about she was a young actor and she was going to be murdered on December 15, 2006. Some people that put up videos on the net are mostly trying to get your opinion on what they do. Some of their videos can be distracting in some what ways. Some people make fun of other movies and put it on the net. And some can be really awful at playing harmful tricks or just pranking other people.

3.Tell A Story. Make it Snappy… There are also some devices such as MP3 players that take a lot of videos and put them on their device. But now that people have phones also, they would want more pod cast. Some people still do pod casting and some think that their little videos would be on television, but the viewers wouldn’t do that because some pod casters videos’ are only 5 minutes. They also say that the internet is freedom because they get to do what they want. And also put any kind of videos on there no matter what they show.

4.Set the Course…To go out in life and be what you want. You would have to deal with that on your own. You would have to fine your own things. You would have to be self- motivated. And also if you want to be a star theirs the net because some stars are found on the internet at sometimes. But knowing that you will be successful and love what you are doing and make it to the big world, then you have life set up for you.

Proceed With Caution:
1. Saying, I can’t… The word I can’t is saying, you are going to throw your dignity out the window. But knowing you can do it is much easier because it’s all in front of you to do so. There is another saying to say which is, “you can always do it when you set your mind to it.” Some people in the real world also say does words to themselves so that they can do it and also wanting to see what they get out of it.

2. Getting dollar signs in your eyes… Thinking about jobs you would want to do. Is also thinking about the salary you would want because jobs do not give you that much of cash. But knowing what you want to do and what’s the cost of it is going to be then you will not have a problem about anything. But sticking your mind of what you want to do.

3. Doing what your parents expect- or what you think they expect… My parents say to this and don’t do this, but some parents are very supportive of what their children want out of life. But by being a more responsible person it can be your own choice. What parents expect you to do is graduate and go to college then get your career, but a good one that can feed you and help you with living.

4. Assuming a job won’t be useful in building experiences… They say, “anytime that you get a job, no matter how bad it may seem, it can teach you something.” Of what I experienced was working with my mom doing a lot of things that I never knew she did. But, working with my mother made me think twice of what I should become. So experiences do work of what you would want to do.

5. Going it alone… having no one around could be difficult, but knowing that you can do it is really great because you would know how to take care of yourself. It can be very blessing because you may never had help before, but on the way there is so much more to expect. So being alone can be a good experience, but you need support though. I guess. I would support myself in such ways if I made it in the real world today.

Up In Arms

Hmmm....Should teachers carry guns?? I think that teachers should not carry guns because they should not shoot anyone in the classroom in front of their own students. In Harrold, Texas their are teachers in the school that carry around guns. You may never know what will happen in the classroom because their all students and teachers that may have some difficulties at home and will do about anything to get their way. Also what if the student is not paying attention in the classroom or is getting on the teachers nerves..it explains everything because the teacher might pull out the gun and point it towards the student then WHAT??? will happen next??
The thing is that carrying guns in and out of the classroom can be very dangerous because what if their is a fight going on at school, a kid might just get the gun in some way, and misuse it at someone else. The key word to this summary is VIOLENCE...if a child such as ages 5 to 10 can also be brain washed at bringing a gun to school and wanting to be like their teacher. Because teachers to them are like roll models by the way they know everything and because their much older then them. In so many ways they can do about anything to get that gun. But i guess in Harrold, Texas their are a lot of shootings going on out there and the police station is about 30 miles away. The question in my mind would be WHY?? because the students come to school each and everyday scared of teachers that have guns.

Wall Street Blues (u.s economy in crisis)

Melanie Horseherder
Oct. 15, 2008
2nd Hour
-The Wall Street Blues-
The Wall Street Blues is about the U.S Economy in Crisis.
The people of the U.S had borrowed lots and lots of money and did not payback what they had promise to payback. So they had created the financial crisis that triggered them all in the bank work area. This had all happened September 15 in the morning. Also one of the nation’s biggest investment bank’s, announced that it had lost so much money because of the bad loans that it had to close. The Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson proposed a $700 billion bailout of U.S banks and other struggling financial institutions. The President George W. Bush quoted “We’re in the midst of a serious financial crisis” and bush also told the nation on September 24, “Our entire economy is in danger.”
People of the U.S had wanted homes that they could not afford. Well they bought the house anyway. I guess, people of the U.S don’t pay for their loans as much as they want to get something. Because that money that people are borrowing, other people can’t get money because the people aren’t paying off their loans that they had borrowed.
The Federal National Mortgage Association, also known as Fannie Mae, and The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, or Freddie Mac. Were on the brink of failing because of all the bad loans they were carrying. Federal officials said they could not let Fannie and Freddie fail, so the government took over the two companies and poured $200 billion into fixing them. On September 23, Ben Bernanke, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, warned Congress to act fast. He also said it would soon become harder for everyone to borrow money and get credit. Bernanke said, "If no one is willing to end them money, the U.S economy could stop growing. He also said, "The government had to clean up the mortgage mess for good.
U.S Treasury Secretary Paulson asked federal government to give him $700 billion to rescue the nation’s troubled banks. The national debt was nearly $10 trillion before the bailouts. It’s higher now, and taxpayers will have to pay it off. Everyone, from banks to governments to individual borrowers, needs to be more responsible, says Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “We’ve got to understand that we’re all in this together.”
The main point i learned was to save at all causes and pay back what you had borrowed soon so you can have as much cash as you would want. and borrow money at a fair price so you won't have to pay back the entire cash you owe. Be very responsible about what you woul get with the money you are borrowing from the U.S economy. Also know that people otu there are wanting to use the money you borrowed. People might need it bad, even more then you. So just think about what other people need and to see if they do need it.
